Founded in 1845, Brighton College was the first independent school in East Sussex, occupying a significant place in the development of British education.
An early pioneer in teaching modern languages and science, Brighton College was the first to have a science laboratory, a school magazine and a gymnasium.
The College has a long history of being innovative, with all Lower Sixth taking part in our Entrepreneurship Challenge, the Fourth Form studying Presentation Skills, and Years 7 and 8 learning Mandarin to offer pupils a more worldcentric view. Our Robotics Club compete at the FIRST Robotics Competition in Istanbul - the only UK school to attend.
