Every pupil at Brighton College joins one of our day or boarding houses. Each with its own personality, our Houses are so much more than a physical space. Houses become homes from home, where lifelong friendships are formed.
Within this supportive community, pupils begin the task of discovering where life will take them. We will ensure that they enjoy and flourish in their chosen academic subjects, that they take advantage of the many opportunities on offer, and that they are supported every step of the way.
Our pupils enjoy a wide range of events, from performing in the House Song competition at Brighton Dome to representing their House at Sports Day. There are also numerous social events throughout the year, such as House dinners to bowling trips, which allow the House community to bond and have fun.
We ensure all our pupils to develop the life skills they will require at university and beyond. Our presentation skills programme is unique to Brighton College and covers speech writing, posture, intonation and breathing. We film and play back presentations so that pupils can assess and improve in both ability and confidence.
The ‘Beyond Brighton’ programme develops important life skills, such as cooking quick and nutritious meals, self-defence, first aid and money management.
Our Artificial Intelligence course provides all our pupils with the understanding of AI and how it can help, and hinder their lives. The course delivers in equal parts, practical activities and philosophical discussions.
Our catering team understands the importance of fuelling curious minds. Healthy food is key to a healthy mind, but equally important is how food brings pupils and teachers together to share their thoughts over a delicious meal.
Our chefs take great pride in the food they create, making sure that every day, individual needs are met through a large variety of creative, freshly cooked, inviting and simply delicious dishes. We have a dedicated Nutritionist, who along with our catering team have developed a range of initiatives throughout the year, providing engaging, fun and educational activities to support our pupils’ development and wellbeing.
Our commitment to our pupils doesn't just stop after they leave us. All Brighton College pupils get to join the Old Brightonians network, with over 8,500 members worldwide.
Every pupil becomes part of Brighton College Connect, a global networking platform that includes an events programme, formal dinners, reunion drinks, sporting events and is a great launch pad for professional networking.
