The admissions process for 16+ starts in Year 11. Registration is recommended at least one year prior to entry, and you are warmly invited to attend one of our Open Mornings.

The first round of assessments will involve written papers in verbal reasoning, maths and a general paper assessing aptitudes in scientific reasoning, reading and writing. Based on performance in the entry papers, successful applicants will be invited back to the College for the interview stage of the assessment process. Each applicant will have two interviews with members of our academic staff
Following the November Assessment Day, conditional offers are made in December. These offers are conditional upon GCSE grades achieved and released the following August.
Once you have formally accepted your place for Year 12, we will invite you to an induction afternoon. We will also send you your welcome pack, where you will learn about events planned to help you settle in quickly.
We welcome overseas pupils from all over the world, and have a truly international pupil community. We offer day places at all entry points and boarding places are available at Year 12. We recommend you register at least one year before entry.

Our Admissions team will be in contact to help you make the necessary arrangements for your child. Assessments need to be held at an approved invigilation centre in the applicant’s relevant city. All candidates will sit assessments in English and maths. Candidates applying for 16+ will also sit a General Paper assessing critical thinking, writing and scientific reasoning.
Results will be sent via email by the end of November.
As a licensed sponsor with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), the school can sponsor a non-UK nationality pupil for a Child Student study visa upon request.
A Child Student study visa is most suitable for full boarders. If you're applying for a day place or weekly boarding place, and the pupil would require a Child Student study visa, please contact our Visas Coordinator to discuss if sponsorship will be possible.

Pupils travel to school from our surrounding areas using our extensive school bus network, covering Sussex, Surrey, Kent, London and Berkshire. There are also many cycle paths across the city and an vast network of local bus routes serving Brighton & Hove, from Steyning and Shoreham through to Newhaven, as well as longer distance routes to Eastbourne, Lewes, Ringmer and Tunbridge Wells,
Brighton College is just a 30-minute drive from London Gatwick Airport and is 75 minutes from London Heathrow Airport. Central London is an easy 50-minute direct train journey.
