Our Sixth Formers take leading roles in our clubs and societies, organising social and charity events, directing plays and leading pupil committees.

The Combined Cadet Force (CCF) offers pupils a broad range of challenging, exciting and educational activities to develop their leadership skills and promote responsibility, self-reliance, resourcefulness, endurance and perseverance. At Brighton College, we are a large non-compulsory contingent of around 200 cadets split across three sections: Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force. Pupils have the choice to join any one of these.
Army
The Army section undertake training in drill, basic field training, leadership, weapons handling, navigation, first aid and fieldcraft. Field days are often spent at Pippingford Park where various fieldcraft sessions take place.
Navy
The Royal Navy section specialises in boat work and seamanship, which includes navigation, knots, drill, and general pilotage skills training, coupled with leadership skills and first aid. On our termly field day, the pupils will often spend their day on the water on different afloat activities at Hove Lagoon, Chichester Ship Canal or from HMS Excellent. We also offer the opportunity to undertake some coastal sailing out of Brighton Marina.
Royal Air Force
The RAF section partake in flying, gliding and other activities such as shooting. In their weekly sessions, they learn about the principles of flight, aircraft recognition, communications and hone their leadership skills. They also make full use of our flight simulator to put their learning into practice.
Gold, Silver and Bronze Award pupils go on various exciting expeditions through the year, from the Seven Sisters to the Peak District and the High Peaks. As part of the Awards, they take part in many varied activities, including karate, baking, helping the local community, and performing magic tricks!
Our pupils who pass their Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award attend a fabulous garden party at Buckingham Palace together.
We offer a number of fantastic trips to complement and enhance your learning, as well as to assist with charity projects worldwide.
