Brighton College is delighted to have received an unprecedented three accolades in The Sunday Times Parent Power Schools Guide: UK Boarding School of the Year 2025, Top School of the Year for A-levels 2025 and Top Academic School in South East England 2025.
The Sunday Times rankings also place Brighton College as the Top Co-Educational School in the UK.
The first-hand experience gained on these trips enables our Sixth Form to gain an invaluable mix of knowledge, skills and understanding across their A-level subjects and a broad range of subject areas, as well as a wider world perspective.
All Lower Sixth select an enrichment trip in the area they are applying for at university, with trips designed to extend and enrich their knowledge and build their applications.
We also run an outreach trip abroad each year – previously this has been turtle conservation in Greece, and building libraries and supporting community education in Ghana.
US Universities
Pupils cross the Atlantic with our Director of Global Futures to go to some of the most prestigious and popular universities in America. Visiting the world-class institutions of MIT, Yale, NYU, Harvard, Princeton, Swarthmore, Georgetown and other East Coast colleges in a jam-packed six-day excursion, pupils also meet with Old Brightonians studying in the colleges to hear more about life on campus.
Auschwitz-Birkenau
Every year, the entire Lower Sixth visit the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum to consider and learn from the history of the former concentration camp. The College believes this visit is vitally important for critical reflection on all forms of discrimination, and that it is our duty to ensure every person is treated with respect.
CERN
The annual trip to CERN, one of the world’s largest and most respected centres for scientific research, sees 40 physicists explore the facility. The organisation is credited not only with the invention of the internet, but the detection of the elusive Higgs boson particle. The immense scale of engineering at the site, and complexity of the research there, leaves a huge impression on our pupils.
Pre-Season Tours
Hockey, rugby, netball and football teams regularly attend pre-season training camps at various European sporting centres of excellence. Most recently our teams have been to Porto and Gibraltar
Athens
The Classics department trip to Athens is always a highlight. Our pupils enjoy seeing the Parthenon, visiting the ancient Agora and watching the sunset from the top of the Areopagus.
Three Peaks Challenge
Pupils take on the challenging endeavour of climbing the highest mountains of England, Scotland and Wales within 24 hours. A truly sensational achievement – battling the elements whilst raising money for charity.
Skiing
Each winter, pupils embark on an exhilarating week-long ski trip, combining the thrill of winter sports with the enchanting beauty of the Alps.
Istanbul
The senior robotics team regularly take part in the First Robotics Competition held in beautiful Istanbul. Our engineers and coders are proud to be the only team from the UK to take part.
Marrakesh
Lower Sixth French, geography and religious studies pupils set off to the bustling city of Marrakesh for an insightful and thrilling trip, immersing themselves in the sights and sounds of the city.
Lyon
The Swing Band and Chapel Choir embarked on a concert tour to Lyon to deliver a number of exciting concerts, and marvel at the sights the city has to offer.
Berlin
Sixth Form art, German and history pupils travelled to Berlin for four action-packed days of culture.
