Our Prep School creates a nurturing and supportive environment where pupils can flourish academically, socially and emotionally. Our experienced teachers are committed to providing a well-rounded education that fosters a love for learning, critical thinking and personal growth.

Our culture of kindness permeates everything we do at Brighton College. We place great emphasis on mutual respect and kindness to others, so that every child feels valued for who they are.

Our pupils know there is a whole world beyond the classroom, and we encourage them to remember they are a part of society, not apart from it. Through a wide variety of community projects, our pupils learn the importance of giving back and making a difference in the world.

Our spaces provide dynamic learning environments for pupils to engage with their subjects. In addition to our own beautiful spaces, we also use the incredible facilities at the senior school.

Situated on the south coast of England, we enjoy being part of the city of Brighton, and are also within sight of the sea and walking distance of the South Downs countryside. This allows our pupils to enjoy the best of all worlds – the beach, the countryside and the best of Brighton & Hove.

Upon leaving our Prep School, the vast majority of our pupils move on to Year 9 at Brighton College, where they continue their exceptional educational journey. Our pupils flourish and thrive, building on the strong foundation that we have laid.

Who We Are

Brighton College Prep School has the following aims:

  • To develop a lifelong attitude of kindness in all aspects of their life, to live with integrity and create an understanding of how to enhance their wellbeing and that of others.
  • To inspire a love of learning through an innovative and challenging skills-based curriculum which encourages curiosity and enquiry about the changing world.
  •  To enthuse children with the confidence and desire to go beyond their own learning potential in academic and co-curricular areas of school life.
  • To promote an appreciation of spiritual development whilst respecting and celebrating the diversity in others regardless of gender, religion, culture, sexuality, ethnic and social background whilst gaining an understanding of fundamental British values.
  • To provide opportunities for children to build and maintain positive and healthy relationships and to understand the importance of contributing to their local and global communities in a meaningful way.
  • To create positive working partnerships with parents for the good of the child to enable them to become the best versions of themselves.

The best way to experience what life is like at Brighton College is to join us at an Open Morning, where you will have the chance to talk to pupils and teachers about what makes our school such a special place, and to answer any questions you have about life here.
