Our Prep School creates a nurturing and supportive environment where pupils can flourish academically, socially and emotionally. Our experienced teachers are committed to providing a well-rounded education that fosters a love for learning, critical thinking and personal growth.

Our culture of kindness permeates everything we do at Brighton College. We place great emphasis on mutual respect and kindness to others, so that every child feels valued for who they are.

Our pupils know there is a whole world beyond the classroom, and we encourage them to remember they are a part of society, not apart from it. Through a wide variety of community projects, our pupils learn the importance of giving back and making a difference in the world.

Our spaces provide dynamic learning environments for pupils to engage with their subjects. In addition to our own beautiful spaces, we also use the incredible facilities at the senior school.

Situated on the south coast of England, we enjoy being part of the city of Brighton, and are also within sight of the sea and walking distance of the South Downs countryside. This allows our pupils to enjoy the best of all worlds – the beach, the countryside and the best of Brighton & Hove.

Upon leaving our Prep School, the vast majority of our pupils move on to Year 9 at Brighton College, where they continue their exceptional educational journey. Our pupils flourish and thrive, building on the strong foundation that we have laid.

Who We Are

Brighton College Prep School seeks to impart or provide:

  • a love of learning for its own sake;
  • a foundation of knowledge and body of skills with which to understand and question the world we live in and to prepare us, through an innovative approach to education, for the world we are likely to inhabit in the future;
  • an awareness of, and appreciation of, the spiritual dimension in our lives;
  • an enthusiasm for the world beyond the classroom – in particular, sport, music and the performing arts;
  • a respect for difference in others and a recognition that the efforts and achievements of every individual in our community are valued equally;
  • an awareness of the needs of others, and a firm belief that – whatever our age – we can make a difference, locally and globally, right now.

In short, we strive to turn out well-educated, tolerant and intellectually curious young adults who are ready to take a full, active and positive role in the life of our country and of our world.

The best way to experience what life is like at Brighton College is to join us at an Open Morning, where you will have the chance to talk to pupils and teachers about what makes our school such a special place, and to answer any questions you have about life here.
