With the ending of the UCAS deadline, university offers rolled in from all the popular destinations - from Bristol to Edinburgh, Exeter to St Andrews. In all but one of the last five years, the single most common destination has been Cambridge and it looks like being so again this year, with a really impressive 20 Cambridge offers in the bag.
Overall, Sixth Formers have over 360 offers already from Russell Group universities, and 45 offers from global top ten universities, with these numbers set to rise as more offers come in. 16 of the Upper Sixth have already heard back from all their universities, with the majority of those having achieved a full suite of offers. Typically, 90% of UCAS applications from Brighton College pupils result in an offer, and early signs suggest that this year may be even better.
One pupil who has received an offer to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge is Anna, who was offered a scholarship at Brighton College along with 22 other Ukrainian refugee boys and girls, many of them arriving in the country on their own.
Enticed by the prospect of studying abroad, many pupils are in the process of applying to the US and Canada, with early offers received from renowned institutions Notre Dame, Purdue and the University of Michigan among others, while Stella has already won a place at the prestigious IE Business School in Madrid. Pupils will be going on to study in a wide variety of fields, including Sammy, who has a place at the Skyborne Airline Academy.
