The best way to experience what life is like at Brighton College is to join us at an Open Morning, where you will have the chance to talk to pupils and teachers about what makes our school such a special place.
A* is the most common A-level grade at Brighton College again this year, with a pre-Covid record-breaking number of 359 A* grades.
In all, there were 66 pupils with at least 3 A* grades, 26 with 4 A*s, six with 5 A*s and one with 6 A*s. The proportion of grades at A*-B is almost identical to that achieved in 2019 before Covid when Brighton College was ranked 3rd in the UK by The Sunday Times.
Top performer was Mike with 7 A*s who now heads off to Oxford to study Maths and Computer Science. Also celebrating is Stan with 5 A* grades. A keen cricketer, representing Jersey, he is heading off to Cambridge to study Natural Sciences. Others with 5 A*s include Thomas, Ben, Andy and Tommy.
Last year, Vlad and Vlad (above) fled the war in Ukraine, eventually finding a place in England as one of 23 boys and girls given free places at Brighton College. Today, Vlad P won a place at Bath University to study Business and Vlad M at Manchester University to study Mechanical Engineering.
Among the many heading off to top universities to study Science, Medicine and Engineering, there are plenty of others following their own very different pathways – Ben (above), who achieved 3 A*s and is now off to study Musical Theatre at the prestigious Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts; Alex (below left) who joined Brighton on its Opening Doors scholarship and is now off to Cambridge to read History and Spanish, with 4 A*s to his name.
Hermione achieved 4 A*s and 1 A, and heads to Cambridge to read Medicine. Head of School, Sarah (below), heads to Cambridge with 3 A*s and 1 A – in her case, to read Geography.
Cambridge remains the single most common university destination over the last five years for Brighton College pupils. There has also been a noticeable increase in applications to North America, with Sam (with 4 A*s) among a significant cohort heading off to the USA, in his case Duke University.
