Pupils are celebrating today after receiving an astonishing 43 offers from either the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge – the highest number in the College’s history. We are immensely proud of our pupils - a huge congratulations!
Mr Chong took to the stage in the Great Hall, revealing the results of the heats to the attentive audience. The Head Master then articulated his vision of an astute and business-savvy pupil, encouraging the Lower Sixth to aspire to this ideal. The tension was palpable, as the aspiring entrepreneurs present their innovative ideas. First in line was Ryle’s Rejuice, showcasing their eco-conscious approach with recycled batteries.
Following them, Fenwick’s Cuppa Corn took centre stage, unveiling their environmentally friendly origami cup that is not only compostable but also a testament to sustainable design. Hampden’s OPAL captivated the audience next, presenting a ground-breaking voice-controlled assisted living package, tailored for the elderly. The spotlight then shifted to New House’s Botanimist, introducing their automatic plant ‘mister’ that promises to revolutionise plant care. School’s Thread Again followed suit, impressing the audience with their forward-thinking secondhand uniform service.
While all ideas received praise from the discerning panel of judges, it was Fenwick, New and Hampden who emerged victorious.
