 Carol Service 2

The countdown to Christmas began in earnest for Brighton College. The solo first verse of Once in Royal David’s City took centre stage in the flickering candlelight, as we started the traditional sequence of Nine Lesson and Carols, a service first developed at Truro Cathedral in 1880.

A succession of pupils and staff from the Third Form to the Head Master read clearly and confidently from the Bible. The choir, directed by an infectiously energetic Ms Reavey , performed a beautiful selection of Christmas music. The congregation sang several well-known carols, with members of the choir spread out around the congregation for verse three of O Little Town of Bethlehem.

Many thanks to everyone who was involved in an inspiring and truly wonderful service.
