This term marked the exhilarating start of our annual Lower Sixth Entrepreneurship Challenge, an initiative designed to ignite a spirit of enterprise among our pupils. The Challenge explores the factors that determine business success and failure through lectures delivered by successful entrepreneurs. Over the term, the Houses work tirelessly to develop their ideas, fine-tune their business models, and prepare their pitches. With creativity, innovation and a competitive edge, they aim to impress the ‘Dragons’ in our much-anticipated final presentation.

This year’s competition generated an array of outstanding ideas from all House teams, showcasing the ingenuity and business acumen of our Lower Sixth pupils. Our impressive finalists included:

  • Abraham’s StockScholar – A game designed to teach teenagers responsible investment strategies using a virtual currency.
  • Alexander’s Spinamo – A revolutionary dynamo that attaches to wheels to charge devices on the go.
  • Chichester’s GimBox – A spill-proof food and drink delivery box.
  • Fenwick’s Grapeology – Sustainable cardboard packaging for wine cases and bottle labels.
  • Fenwick’s GlucoGuard – A waterproof hard shell for glucose monitors, offering protection for diabetic users.
  • New’s AlpineTraX – An interactive navigation app designed specifically for skiers.

With so many impressive ideas, the judges faced the difficult task of selecting just three winning teams. After much deliberation, Alexander’s Spinamo, Fenwick’s GlucoGuard and New’s AlpineTraX emerged victorious. The level of innovation, teamwork and entrepreneurial spirit displayed this year was truly remarkable. Each team’s hard work and dedication are testament to the talent and ambition of our pupils.
