Our talented Year 3 children created some fabulous mixed-media portraits during Portrait Club. The first step for this project was to collage squares of mixed papers to create a background. They drew the outlines with thin brushes and slightly watered-down black acrylic paint. Yes, they drew directly with paintbrushes. They added a slightly see-through wash of white paint to the background behind the head. They added colour to the eyes and lips for the final step using posca paint pens. The vibrant colours injected life into the portraits, highlighting the unique personalities and imaginative flair of our Year 3 artists. These mixed-media masterpieces are a testament to our talented pupils' boundless creativity, innovative spirit, and developing skills.
