Brighton College is delighted to have received an unprecedented three accolades in The Sunday Times Parent Power Schools Guide: UK Boarding School of the Year 2025, Top School of the Year for A-levels 2025 and Top Academic School in South East England 2025.
The Sunday Times rankings also place Brighton College as the Top Co-Educational School in the UK.
We were delighted to learn at the beginning of the term that Mr Cairns was shortlisted for UK Social Mobility Champion of the Year in the national SOMO (Social Mobility) Awards.
He was nominated alongside highly influential organisations, including the top law firms in the UK and even the Ministry of Defence, and we were very proud to hear that Mr Cairns won a silver award at the awards ceremony in October.
The awards recognise businesses, schools and individuals who work for the betterment of society, and the prestigious nomination is for Mr Cairns’ leadership in a number of areas. This includes co-founding the hugely successful London Academy of Excellence for disadvantaged but aspirational young people, establishing the Let Right Prevail scheme offering full scholarships at Brighton for twenty Ukrainian refugees, and his introduction of the Opening Doors initiative for disadvantaged children on the South Coast.
