Old Brightonians Immy Jenner and Hannah Sutton enjoying playing in Oxbridge Cricket Varsity at Lords

Congratulations to Old Brightonians Imogen Jenner, Hannah Sutton and Stan Norman on competing in the historic Oxford vs Cambridge University T20 match at Lord's Cricket Ground.

This momentous event was first played at Lord's back in 1827, two years prior to the famous Boat Race.

The women’s varsity was up first, with Cambridge sealing a comfortable victory 50 run victory. Overall disappointment for Oxford's representative, Hannah, though she did take all of her side’s wickets as she claimed figures of 4-0-29-4.

And then it was the turn of the men. In a thrilling finish, it was Cambridge that would be on the losing side this time as Oxford sealed a dramatic five-wicket victory with two balls to spare.

Stan bowled well, claiming the big scalp of George Roberts on his way to figures of 4-0-22-1 – the most economical out of the bunch – but it was not enough as they suffered defeat in the final over of the day.

It is truly incredible to have three Old Brightonians participate in this historic fixture, and we'll be keeping a close eye on their future cricket endeavours.
