Pupils are celebrating today after receiving an astonishing 43 offers from either the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge – the highest number in the College’s history. We are immensely proud of our pupils - a huge congratulations!
Brighton College pupils are celebrating after pupils received an astonishing 43 offers from either Oxford or Cambridge Universities – the highest number in the College’s history. Of those 43 pupils, 28 have an offer from Cambridge, and 15 have an offer from Oxford. This news adds to the raft of reasons why Brighton College was named Best Sixth Form in Britain by The Week.
Last summer, Brighton College had the best A-level results of any school in the UK. The College also received an unprecedented three accolades from The Sunday Times this year, including Top School in the UK for A-levels, UK Boarding School of the Year and Top Academic School in South East England.
Our pupils will be going to Oxford and Cambridge to study a remarkable range of subjects, from medicine to music to modern languages, highlighting the culture of intellectual curiosity and academic excellence across the school’s departments. The school puts this success down to its talented and dedicated teachers, who create an environment where pupils are motivated to pursue their academic interests, however niche they may be.
The College-record number of offers to Oxford and Cambridge also dispels the myth that there might be a disadvantage for pupils from independent schools when they apply from to the world’s leading universities. This year, our pupils have also had a plethora of offers from US universities, as well as from all Global Top 30 and Russell Group universities.
