A track athlete by trade, Miles has a bright future in the sporting world. Currently the second fastest U18 800m runner in the Commonwealth, Miles claimed silver at the Youth Commonwealth Games in the summer of 2023.
Following this, he took part the Youth Talent Pathway run by England Athletics – a stepping stone in his transition from junior to senior athlete.
It’s not purely on the track where Miles performs, however, with sparkling runs at cross-country level, rounding off the recently cross country season with two National top 10 finishes: 8th in the National Inter- Counties as a top year and 10th in the English Schools as a bottom year.
Now in Upper Sixth, Miles reached the final of the Technology Design and Innovation Challenge organised by the Manufacturing Technologies Association.
In May, Miles received a coveted SportsAid Award, and was the chosen individual for athletics in Great Britain. The implications of this award are vast, as SportsAid athletes are only nominated if they have substantial potential to advance along the Olympic pathway.
He is now targeting success at the U20 World Championships in August, as he continues to stake his claim as one of the leading young track athletes, not just in the country, but in the Commonwealth.
