In the summer of 2023, Aran competed at the British Summer Swimming Championships in Sheffield. Aran won both the 100m and 200m backstroke events to be crowned U15 British Champion in both. In addition, he also won a silver medal in the 200m Individual Medley.

With his teammates, Aran competed in the 4x200 Freestyle relay; they claimed a gold medal and were named British Champions in the 14–16-year-old category. They also won a bronze in the 4x100 Freestyle relay.

An exceptional swimmer, it was then onto Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with the English Schools Swimming Association team to compete at the ISF World Games. Aran had a very close race in the 100m Backstroke, winning a silver medal and missing out on gold by only 0.02 seconds.

He also claimed a silver medal in the 50m Freestyle with a personal best time and was part of the relay team in three events - they won one gold (4x100 Freestyle Relay) and two silvers (4x100 Medley Relay and 4x100 Mixed Freestyle Relay).
