Middle School pupils on stage performing in A Monster Calls with a projection of a clock on the wall

A huge congratulations to the cast and crew of A Monster Calls for their remarkable production.

Patrick Ness’ piercing novel was brought vividly to life by pupils from the Fourth and Lower Fifth forms, with the play following the struggles of a young boy named Conor as he deals with some particularly bad news.

In the night, Conor is visited by an ancient yew tree from his garden who tells him three stories and demands that once the tales have been told Conor must tell them his story: the truth about his life.

The play was a triumph - deeply beautiful and moving - and everyone who was involved in it should feel a huge sense of accomplishment.

Due to the incredible talent of the actors, the care and thought of the technical team, and the amazing directing of Mr Granville, it was a magical few nights of theatre.
